Al menos tres personas murieron como consecuencia de las intensas nevadas que azotan a la región central de Estados Unidos.
El temporal obligó a cerrar aeropuertos y provoca, además, destrozos, caídas de de árboles y dejó sin electricidad a más de dos millones de usuarios.
Por la fuerte nevada, las autoridades declararon el estado de emergencia en Connecticut, Nueva York, Nueva Jersey y Massachusetts, donde todos los vuelos fueron cancelados por el temporal.
Según informaron una de las tres víctimas fatales registradas hasta el momento es un hombre de 84 años de Temple, en el estado de Pensilvania, que falleció cuando un árbol cayó su casa.
El Central Park de Nueva York rompió el récord de acumulación de nieve para el mes de octubre, que llegó a los 3,30 centímetros.
