Brasil anunció un ajuste fiscal por temor a la crisis internacional
El gobierno centroizquierdista de Dilma Rousseff decidió recortar todavía más los gastos del Estado, con el objetivo de dar más volumen al superávit fiscal de Brasil.
Flanqueada por su ministro de Hacienda, Guido Mantega, la presidenta brasileña anunció el nuevo ajuste, que representa un tijeretazo de casi 9.000 millones de dólares en lo que resta del año, ante los líderes sindicales con los que se reunió ayer por la mañana en el Palacio del Planalto.
Ellos contaron, al salir del encuentro, que la jefa de Estado “está preocupada” con la crisis financiera internacional.
A los gremialistas les dijo que la razón del aumento del superávit fiscal (más recaudación y menos gastos) era “prevenir” un impacto en Brasil como el de 2008, cuando la economía prácticamente se paralizó por causa del derrumbe de varios bancos norteamericanos.
Mantega negó que se trate de un “ajuste” recesivo. El ministro consideró que la reducción del gasto público “ayudará a aumentar las inversiones en el país, mantener el crecimiento económico y reducir la tasa de interés a mediano y largo plazo”.
