Cae Trípoli y se desmorona la dictadura de Kadafi en Libia
Miles de rebeldes libios entraron a los barrios de la periferia de Trípoli. A su paso, civiles salían a festejar y rodeaban a los milicianos que llegaban en caravana con sus camiones desde el oeste.
Pocas horas después, la Plaza Verde, símbolo del régimen, ubicada en el corazón de la ciudad, había sido tomada por las tropas opositoras a Muammar Kadafi, tras un breve tiroteo.
Se especulaba con la inminente detención del líder libio, luego de que su guardia de seguridad y dos de sus hijos se entregaran, ante el avance de la denominada “ofensiva final” lanzada por los insurgentes y la OTAN.
Mientras el cerco sobre la capital comenzaba a cerrarse, tropas de la Alianza Atlántica bombardeaban el cuartel general del líder en la capital y el aeropuerto de Maitika.
Tras esos ataques, fuentes rebeldes aseguraron que el gobierno de Libia estaba por entrar en “colapso”.
