El presidente venezolano Hugo Chávez volvió a hablar del cáncer que padece, dando detalles llamativos, y sostuvo que “probablemente” comenzará un tratamiento que incluye quimioterapia.

“Estaba matándome yo mismo, comía de todo, estaba pesando más de 100 kilos, andaba con tres teléfonos prendidos, veía algo por televisión y llamaba a un ministro (…) la gente me daba papelitos pidiéndome una casa, tomaba 40 tazas de café en un día.
Era una angustia permanente que no me dejaba ni respirar. Es mi culpa por querer resolver desde tapar un hueco hasta estar en la faja del Orinoco”, reconoció.
Ahora, aclaró, está aprendiendo a “delegar más”. “No me considero imprescindible; aquí hay un proceso desatado y uno juega un rol”, lanzó.
Con respecto a su enfermedad, el mandatario dio nuevas precisiones. “Yo tenía un tumor grande; cuando vi esa imagen dije ‘Dios mío’, era casi como una pelota de béisbol ” contó.
Y admitió que cuando se lo diagnosticaron “le asaltaron los fantasmas” de la muerte: “Cuando a uno le dicen cáncer, uno lo asocia con el fin”.
