Diputados aprobó la ley que prohíbe fumar en lugares públicos
Con una amplia mayoría de votos (182 a favor, uno en contra y una abstención), la Cámara de Diputados convirtió en ley el proyecto que establece la prohibición total de fumar en ambientes públicos, impide la publicidad y promoción de actividades por empresas tabacaleras y obliga a los fabricantes a incluir mensajes que alerten sobre los efectos nocivos del cigarrillo.
La idea es combatir la epidemia del tabaquismo, que permitirá bajar las más de 40 mil muertes por enfermedades relacionadas con el tabaco que se producen anualmente.
El proyecto de ley, presentado por la santafesina Adriana Bortolozzi, ya estaba aprobado por el Senado el año pasado y el 27 de abril de este año fue también aprobado por tres comisiones de la Cámara de Diputados.
La ley permitirá que los espacios públicos y cerrados, como bares, restoranes, boliches y bingos pasen a ser ambientes 100% libres de humo del tabaco (sin áreas para fumar), se restringirá la publicidad y se agregarán advertencias con imágenes en los paquetes.
