El costo para las aseguradoras de los daños provocados por el terremoto del viernes en Japón podría ascender a 34.600 millones de dólares, según una estimación inicial divulgada por una firma especialista en evaluación de riesgos.
La empresa evalúa los daños a las propiedades privadas cubiertas por las aseguradoras en entre 14.500 y 34.600 millones de dólares, pero destaca, sin embargo, que numerosas observaciones sobre el terreno siguen sin estar disponibles, lo que podría aumentar las estimaciones.
La compañía precisa que su modelización no tiene en cuenta los daños ocasionados por el tsunami que siguió al terremoto de 8,9 grados en la escala de Richter, el más intenso jamás registrado en Japón.
