El Ministerio de Seguridad destinará más de 6 mil efectivos para el "Operativo Escudo Norte"
El Ministerio de Seguridad desplegará en el Noroeste y Noreste argentino más de 6 mil efectivos y materiales de Gendarmería Nacional y Prefectura Naval, en el marco del “Operativo Escudo Norte” anunciado ayer por la presidenta Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
Según adelantaron voceros de la cartera a cargo de Nilda Garré, el dispositivo de vigilancia dispuesto por el Poder Ejecutivo incrementa la capacidad de control de los espacios aéreos, fluviales y terrestres de jurisdicción nacional para prevenir incursiones ilegales desde el exterior.
El megaoperativo coordina medios del sistema de Seguridad y de Defensa, mientras que los radares militares aportarán la transmisión automática de la información para la identificación, seguimiento y captura de incursores ilegales al territorio argentino.
El Operativo Escudo Norte comenzó formalmente ayer, y concluirá el 31 de diciembre de pudiendo prorrogarse.
