Es oficial: Japón, afuera de la Copa América
Tras varios idas y vueltas, finalmente se confirmó que Japón no participará de la Copa América.
La selección asiática no logró llegar a un acuerdo con los clubes para poder contar con los jugadores y se bajó del campeonato que comenzará en julio.
“Lamento mucho comunicarle que la selección japonesa no puede participar en la Copa América 2011 Argentina y al mismo tiempo le pido profundamente disculpas”, comienza diciendo la carta que el presidente de la Asociación Japonesa de Fútbol, Junji Ogura, envió a la AFA.
Ahora la Conmebol ofrecerá el lugar que queda vacante a Costa Rica, que ya venía trabajando pensando en la Copa América, según confirmó a canchallena Alexander Aguilar, portavoz de la selección tica, días atrás.
