Un bajo stock implica una menor parición de terneros. Y eso replica en la consecuente contracción de la oferta de carne.
En 2010 la faena fue de solo 11,8 millones de cabezas y la producción de carne llegó a 2,61 millones de toneladas.
Sin carne suficiente, la suba del precio al consumidor ya ronda el 120% respecto de fin de 2009 y el consumo interno cayó de 70 a 58 kilos anuales por habitante.
