La Alcaldía de Roma declara la guerra a los chicles arrojados en las calles
La Alcaldía de Roma declaró, ayer, la guerra a los chicles masticados tras calcular que unos 15 mil son arrojados en las aceras y las calles, lo que provoca un grave daño a la imagen de la Ciudad Eterna y un incremento en el costo de la limpieza.
Para eliminar esos residuos, han puesto manos a la obra para limpiar muros, bancos de travertino y pórticos. “Todos los días, cerca de 15 mil chicles son arrojados a las calles y a los monumentos arqueológicos. Cada año, hallamos unos 5,54 millones de ellos”, denunció Piergiorgio Benvenuti, director de Ama, la empresa pública de aseo de la capital.
Además, el costo de la limpieza urbana se incrementa notablemente ya que las autoridades calculan que retirar cada chicle cuesta un euro, por lo que Ama debería gastar 5,5 millones de euros al año.
