El tránsito hacia y desde Chile por el noroeste de Mendoza, que había sido suspendido por intensas tormentas de nieve en la frontera, fue habilitado informaron responsables viales del tramo.
Automóviles, camionetas, colectivos y camiones con carga internacional circulan con mucha precaución entre las localidades a más de 2.500 metros de altura adonde el día se presentó “con cielo despejado, mucho frío y ráfagas de viento de 60 kilómetros por hora”.
No obstante el tránsito se realiza a poca velocidad porque las ráfagas de viento levantan nieve acumulada al costado de la ruta (viento blanco) y dificulta la visibilidad de los conductores.
