La titular del organismo, Christine Lagarde, se mostró preocupada por las repercusiones de la crisis de Europa, que tiene a España y Grecia como los países más golpeados.
“Actualmente, la economía mundial se encuentra en una coyuntura muy peligrosa”, dijo la ejecutiva francesa, que citó entre los factores más preocupantes a la crisis de confianza de los mercados, los altos índices de desempleo y una desaceleración general del crecimiento.
En su primera visita a un país africano desde que asumió su cargo, la sucesora de Dominique Strauss-Kahn aseguró durante un encuentro con el presidente del Senado nigeriano, David Mark: “Lo que está ocurriendo en economías desarrolladas, particularmente en Europa, es una preocupación para cualquiera en todo el mundo”.
