Tensión entre el Vaticano y China: el Papa excomulgó a dos nuevos obispos
Guerra abierta entre la Santa Sede y China: el Papa excomulgó ayer a un segundo obispo en pocos días, nombrado por la Asociación Patriótica controlada absolutamente por el régimen de Pekín. En un año de crecientes conflictos, las relaciones entre la Iglesia y la nación más poblada del mundo han llegado a su nivel más bajo. Se temen que nuevos nombramientos lleven prácticamente a un cisma.
El Papa manifestó su amargura en un duro comunicado del Vaticano, que anuncia la decisión de Benedicto XVI de fulminar con la excomunión al padre Huang Bigzhang, que fue consagrado episcopal el jueves sin el mandato pontificio, o sea “ilegítimamente”.
Bigzhang “ha incurrido en las sanciones previstas del canon 1382 del Código Canónico y, en consecuencia, la Santa Sede no lo reconoce como obispo de la diócesis de Shantou”.
La declaración agrega que Bigzhang “está privado de la autoridad de gobernar a la comunidad católica diocesana”. El obispo ordenado ilegítimamente “había sido informado con tiempo que no podía ser aprobado como candidato episcopal”.
